Alpine Ductless was founded in 2012 by friends Mike Meisenhiemer and Cory Eckert. Their goal was to bring the best heating and cooling technology in the world to the Pacific Northwest.
After building custom, green technology homes for 30 years, Cory knew one of the most important parts of building a great home was installing the right heating and cooling system. When it was time for the Eckert family to replace their own heating system, Cory set out to find the smartest solution on the market, and his research led him to ductless heat pumps.
At the time, ductless systems were already very popular in Europe and Asia because of their quiet, efficient performance. No other electric system matched their efficiency. Wanting to know if they were the 'real deal', Cory installed a ductless system in his family's home. The Eckert family was convinced. Finally, there was consistent comfort throughout their home, there were no more 'cold spots' and there was air conditioning, too!
From then on, Cory knew he had to get the word out about this environmentally-friendly technology. A few weeks later, he ran into his friend Mike Meisenheimer on a ski lift at White Pass and shared his enthusiasm.
Mike quickly became just as excited as Cory, and Alpine Ductless was born soon after. Sadly, Mike left Alpine Ductless in 2016, but Janette stepped in as co-owner soon after.
